In Kingdom Builders: The Case of the Broken Bridge, the Kingdom Builders—Chris, John, Mary, and Martha—are called to action when they find that the small wooden bridge in their town’s park has broken, making it unsafe for people to cross. Led by Chris, the team uses the Engineering Design Cycle to design and build a stronger, safer bridge.
John gathers the necessary materials, Martha sketches the plans and keeps track of their ideas, and Mary ensures that their solution is not only effective but also considerate of their faith and the environment. After testing and improving their design, the Kingdom Builders successfully construct a sturdy bridge with handrails, ensuring that everyone can cross the stream safely.
Through this adventure, the Kingdom Builders demonstrate the importance of combining engineering skills with Catholic virtues such as perseverance, stewardship, and compassion. The story teaches children how to approach problems with creativity, faith, and responsibility, while inspiring them to take action in their own communities.
